I promise, this will put a smile on your Monday. My buddy, Lance at Jungle of Life sent it to me this weekend. I was giving a keynote last week and I used the “F” word. Yep, “Fun” and it was as if the room full of people became glazed over with the thought of “But fun isn’t serious. And work is serious.”
I don’t think work and fun are opposites. But I definitely think that is a prevalent message in our culture. How can we change this or do you think they should be two separate experiences?
Also…while I am asking questions this Monday morning….
What does fun mean to you and how do you create fun both at work and in your daily life?
Or you can watch it directly in the Eight Principles Website….seriously cool!
Have a Funday Monday!!!

this is great! I’m sending it to my entire office NOW!
I love that first quote by Judy Garland. Great Vid!
To me, fun is about not worrying about making mistakes. Or even… making mistakes ON Purpose!
Love the video! I vaguely remember having watched it before but am delighted about being reminded once again! Hope to inject fun into what I do this week! Intending to tweet your post after this comment! Stay cool!
That was awesome! It was, indeed, a FUNday Monday; I got to “play” with a friend of mine – totally unexpectedly.
Fun is popping into my life more and more these days; I think it’s in part due to you!
Thanks, Katie!
Hi Katie!
I am so glad you shared this! How did things ever get to the point we think work cannot be fun? I am definitely in a different camp these days as I believe work is SUPPOSED to be fun. If not, then you’re probably not doing what you should be doing!
Thanks for the great post!
Thanks for the great insights, cool video and link, Katie! You, my dear, are a fun ambassador! WOO HOO! Thanks for being the spark for so many, to get their lights burning bright again. When we were kids our lights were bright naturally… now, as grown-ups we need awesome inspiration from sherpas like YOU. Thank you!
How can people not think of work as an outlet for fun? It’s amazing to me. After all my research I’m only more convinced. We need to have fun infused into the workplace.
When we laugh and share with each other we increase creativity, productivity and want to come into work. What could be better than that?
