The Levity Project is coming to Chicago!

Lance Ekum(Jungle Of Life) and Kim Kotecki(Escape Adulthood) at their own Levity Project Laughter Flash event in Madison this summer...they will be in Chicago-will you?

In less than a week, a large group of people will gather in Chicago to create more levity in themselves and in the city around them.  These marvelous people only know that they will be playing, laughing, and celebrating in three different events in three different parts of the city.

Why?

A. because it is wicked fun, adventurous and cool thing to do. B. Because they believe the world needs greater lightness and joy! And this is a fun way to shake it up!

The Levity Project is growing.   And that’s good, because it is going to take a lot of energy to create a global change towards positivity, lightness, and joy.  I am so grateful to be alive at a time when people from all over are coming together for this change away from stress, pessimism and negativity.   Recently, I have come across so many amazing people and websites that are all on this path to help us en-lighten up!   In the coming weeks, I will be highlighting fabulous people who are trying to make a difference and point our world toward joy and levity.

In the meantime, I would like to ask you to join us here at The Levity Project.  Sure, we’d love it if you came to Chicago and if you can, register here.  If you can’t come to Chicago, here is how you can help us from your own hometown:

On November 7th, at 12:00 CT, will you laugh in a public place with us? Grab a friend, your iPOD, a good book and sit somewhere in a public place and laugh for 5 minutes.  Just start by saying “Ha Ha Ha” or humming ha ha ha to yourself.  Then keep getting louder and louder. I like to envision a bubble of laughter in my belly and chuckle quietly as I imagine it rising up in me through my chest, throat and out through my mouth.  By the time it escapes my mouth, I let out a big laugh in celebration. Do this for 5 minutes (it will feel like a workout!)

That is all I am asking you to do.  Go somewhere in public and laugh. And then, watch what happens around you.  Sure, there will be the people that look at you oddly and like you may have a problem.  But there will also be the people that look you in the eyes and start to smile.  And even the few that start to laugh with you.  After 5 minutes, notice how you feel.  Do you feel a little lighter?  Do you feel a like the outlook for the day is brighter?  Enjoy making the ripple effect in the world around you.

So if you do laugh in public on Nov 7th, video it and send it to me. I’ll post those who send in their videos.

Below is a video from Monnet Zubieta at morejoy.org.

Monnet called me and said she wanted to do her own laughter flash event for The Levity Project.  What the participant says at the end really moved me.

Peaceout, beansprouts, cause we are all in this world together!

Hi Katie

This is going to be a fantastic day for sure in Chicago that you are putting together. Wish I could be there, but I will definitely take part in some serious laughing that day.

It is great also to hear that more and more people are jumping on board the Levity Project – this is so amazing indeed!

This is a great cause. We need to push ourselves outside our comfort zone to be more comfortable with who we are. Laughter is a great place to start. I wish I could be there.

Good luck. I know you will have a great time.
